Universal Remote is an app designed to turn your iPhone or iPod into a universal learning infra-red remote control. It connects to an Arduino Infra Red server over a network to control devices such as TVs, DVD players and PVRs.

Virtual Remotes can be configured based on images from your own remote, or using the preset remote images supplied with the app. Adding a virtual remote involves:

- Add a connection to Arduino IR Server
- Add a new virtual remote image
- Using the Arduino server to capture remote codes from an existing remote control
- Assigning these codes to the virtual remote buttons.

This allows you to configure the virtual remote how you wish. Existing physical remote layouts can be completely copied, or simplified using only the most used buttons. Alternatively, multiple physical remotes can be combined into one virtual remote that can control multiple devices.

Please note this app requires a networked Arduino IR server to be constructed to function. It *will not* control any devices without this. Full instructions on constructing the Arduino server can be found on the Instructables website: http://www.instructables.com/id/iPhone-Universal-Learing-Remote-with-Arduino/
